Not Every Honeymoon Needs a Beach

There are hundreds of beach honeymoon options in Sri Lanka. Beautiful ones. But if you want something that you will actually remember in twenty years, consider spending two nights at a safari camp where leopards walk past your tent, dinner is served beside a campfire under a sky full of stars, and the only sound at night is the call of a nightjar.

Camp Leopard's honeymoon experience is not a repackaged couples' deal with a rose on the pillow. It is a genuine safari immersion, with private touches designed for two. The camp's small size (maximum 12 guests, usually fewer) means the experience already feels exclusive. The honeymoon package adds to that with private dining, complimentary wine, and a tent decorated for the occasion.

The Yala Serenade is our dedicated honeymoon package. Two nights in a deluxe tent (Nangi or Soththi), two guided safaris, full board, and a set of honeymoon-specific inclusions that make the stay feel special without being performative.

These are optional extras that can be added to the Yala Serenade or any other package when booked as a honeymoon.

Private Campfire Dinner

A multi-course candlelit dinner served at a private table under the stars, away from the main dining area. Chaminda prepares a special menu for two. Candles, white linen, and the sound of the wild as your background music. This is the dinner that guests photograph and post, and it is as good as it looks.

In-Tent Breakfast

Skip the communal brunch. Breakfast is served on your private veranda: hoppers, fresh fruit, tea, coffee, and the view of the buffer zone in the morning light. Available on your second morning when there is no dawn safari departure.

Sundowner Picnic

A late afternoon picnic setup at a scenic point near the camp. A blanket, a basket, chilled drinks, and the sunset over the Yala landscape. Arranged by the camp team and set up before you arrive. Approximately one hour before the campfire dinner service begins.

• High Season (Jan 11 - Apr 30, Jul 1 - Jul 14): $375 per person
• Mid Season (May 1 - Jun 30, Nov 1 - Dec 19): $355 per person
• Green Season (Sep 1 - Oct 31): $320 per person
